Laila Rouass had to channel her inner Dot Cotton after suffering a drainage problem.
The 'Holby City' actress headed down to her local launderette on Thursday (04.02.21) because her pipes were playing up, but joked she was more like former 'EastEnders' actress June Brown's character Dot - who was manager of the Albert Square launderette for years - than model Nick Kamen, who shot to fame in a 1985 Levi's commercial, in which he stripped down to his underpants in the middle of a crowded launderette.
Laila - whose partner is snooker star Ronnie O'Sullivan - wrote on Instagram: "Problem with my drains so a little visit to my local launderette was in order. Less Nick Kamen...more Dot Cotton (sic)"
The actress played Sahira Shah in 'Holby' from 2011 to 2012, and she is to reprise her role as the surgeon on February 9th following Rosie Marcel's departure as Jac Naylor this week.
But things are set to go wrong for Sahira during an operation, and she will be left heartbroken by what ensues in theatre.
Laila is also well known for playing Amber Gates in Noughties drama 'Footballers' Wives', which featured 'Coronation Street' actor Ben Price as her on-screen husband Conrad Gates.
Several other soap stars also appeared in the popular show, including 'EastEnders' actress Gillian Taylforth, and 'Hollyoaks' stars Gary Lucy and Susie Amy, who played husband and wife Kyle Pascoe and Chardonnay Lane-Pascoe.
The pair later reunited as an on-screen couple on the Channel 4 soap.
