Lady Gaga will be checking into the fifth season of American Horror Story as Hotel Cortez owner Elizabeth this autumn, a woman who "is sort of a very wealthy social doyenne who is consumed with art and fashion and people."

Being kept a mystery since her slot on the show was announced, her character was finally revealed by Entertainment Weekly with their new issue, featuring the first official photo of the singer's new mantle.
Gaga can be seen with platinum blonde hair and piercing eyes, royal knight gloves, crimson lipstick and a smattering of blood smeared around her neck.
Speaking to EW, co-creator Ryan Murphy revealed that Elizabeth's diet consists of human blood, but she isn't a vampire - "I prefer the term 'ancient blood virus'. It's really a form of hemophilia, in a way."
Premiering on October 7 in the US, the season will feature usual alumni including Evan Peters, Sarah Paulson and Kathy Bates, with Matt Bomer also returning after guest-starring in season four's Freak Show.
