Kym Marsh is looking for a "completely different" role to her part in 'Coronation Street'.
The 43-year-old actress said goodbye to the cobbles in December, and she is now looking to play a challenging role that could even require her to make some changes to her appearance.
She told the Sunday Mirror newspaper: "I'd love to play something completely different, either a police role or a psychopath, and shave my head for a role. I would definitely do that.
"It would be something I really need to work hard for. A challenge is what I'm after."
The actress - who played Michelle Connor on the soap for 13 years - revealed she's now ready to follow in the footsteps of Sigourney Weaver in 'Alien' or Demi Moore in 'G.I. Jane' by shaving her head for a gritty role.
However, Kym admitted she's also open to returning to the soap in the future.
She said: "I want to give myself time to do other things. So, I'd like to think I will [return]. But not straight away."
Meanwhile, Kym's nine-year-old daughter Polly - who she has with ex-husband Jamie Lomas - could follow in her parent's footsteps as Jamie wants her to become a Hollywood actress.
The actor appeared in the short film 'Lead Belly' with former 'Emmerdale' star Sammy Winward and Polly, and he was blown away by her acting talents.
He recently said: "She's just such a little natural in front of the camera. I don't know where she gets it from. I was talking to her mum about it.
"I think the thing with Polly is she finds it too easy. For example, she'll be sat with me and start crying and I'll be like, 'What's wrong?' and she'll just be acting. She's such a little actress. I would never push her into it, but she just loves it.
"I'm aiming for Hollywood for her, I've got big plans for her. I'll be taking 10 percent off her don't worry!"
