Kym Marsh has been flooded with support after revealing her father passed away.
The 47-year-old actress announced that her father David had died on Friday (12.01.24) at the age of 78 after a long battle with prostate cancer.
She wrote on Instagram: "For the first time in my life … I have no words.
"I love you dad. Always and forever. Rest easy Pops. Goodnight godbless.”
The former 'Coronation Street' actress - who played Michelle Connor for more than a decade on the ITV1 soap - was inundated with messages of support from fellow famous faces upon sharing the sad news.
Faye Brookes - who starred as Kate Connor on the Manchester-based soap - commented: "Sending you and your family all the love beautiful lady.”
Charlie Condou - who played midwife Marcus Dent on 'Corrie' - paid tribute to David, noting that he was a "wonderful" man as he sent his love to his former co-star.
He said: "Oh Kym, I’m so so sorry. He was a truly wonderful man and the most fantastic Dad. You were blessed to have him. I’m sending you so much love darling."
Paula Lane - who played Kylie Platt on 'Coronation Street' - also said she was "so very sorry" to hear the news.
‘Countryfile’ presented Helen Skelton added: "Sending love to you and the family.”
Other stars to send their support included former 'Drag Race' contestant Baga Chipz, former bandmate Suzanne Shaw, and 'This Morning' host Dermot O'Leary.
Kym's ex-husband and 'Hollyoaks' star Jamie Lomas said he was sending "lots of love" to the family.
On Saturday, the Marsh family made a statement to announce the devastating news, which read: "A much-loved husband, dad, grandad, great-grandad and friend to many, David passed away peacefully at home yesterday surrounded by his family.
"We are truly heartbroken and ask for privacy at this incredibly difficult time.”
David was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2021, and had appeared alongside his daughter in November to discuss his condition and how he felt living with the disease on the BBC’s ‘Morning Live’, which Kym co-hosts.
Speaking to Gethin Jones, David said: “It's daily. One day I'm alright and the next I'm bad, you know? That's the way it is now.”
The 'Waterloo Road' star then added that they were taking it “day by day” and were trying to make as many new memories as possible.
She said: “It really is day by day, you don't know. We plan for things and we are trying to plan and make as many memories aren't we?”
The former Hear'Say singer then revealed that David’s diagnosis had brought her closer to her siblings.
She explained: “I've got two older brothers and an older sister. Very rare that we all get together but we've all been doing lots together.”
