The former 'Coronation Street' star - who departed her role as Michelle Connor in December - admits she would have to ask whether it was "really necessary" for her to play out such scenes if it was written in the script for one of her characters to get jiggy with it.

She said: "Gillian Anderson is the star of Netflix show 'Sex Education', but admitted she wouldn't watch it with her kids due to the explicit scenes.

"I can relate as I'm quite prudish about watching sex in films or on TV.

"As an actress, I'd also have to carefully consider a sex scene.

"I'd want to know what it added to the film or show and whether it was really necessary."

Kym reunited with her boyfriend Scott Ratcliff last week while he is on a break from the army, and she has admitted time apart from him has made her appreciate the "small things" in life that couples can take for granted.

Writing in her OK! magazine, she added: "Time apart form Scott makes me appreciate the small things that some couples often take for granted.

"Sitting on the sofa next to him, waking up with him and holding his hand.

"I miss those small things when we're away from one another.

"it's going to be rubbish when he has to go back, but I'm trying not to think about it."

Kym recently admitted she sometimes "feels a bit guilty" about thinking she is "lonely" when her boyfriend is away in the army.

She said: "Sometimes I feel a little bit guilty at the fact I might sit there and think I feel lonely, because whatever I'm going through it must be much harder for him."
