Kylie Minogue is too small to reach her chair on 'The Voice'.

The 'Love At First Sight' hitmaker - who stands at just 5ft 2 inches tall - had to have her rotating red chair featured in the BBC One talent show redesigned with a set of steps in order to sit comfortably alongside fellow judges will.i.am, Sir Tom Jones and Kaiser Chiefs front man Ricky Wilson.

An insider told the Daily Star newspaper: "The block of steps is really quite cute.

"We thought about lowering the chair but that would have been a headache because we would have had to redesign all of them or hers would have looked out of place.

"The block also gives her somewhere to rest her feet so they don't dangle."

It was announced in September that Kylie, 45, would join the show to replace Jessie J - who left the show after two series to focus on her music career - and insiders claim the pint-sized star will be more favourable with viewers than the 'Wild' singer.

A source added to the newspaper: "She brings a warmth to the show that was perhaps missing.

"She has universal appeal because girls want to be her mate and guys want to date her. The combination is just perfect!"

The Voice returns to BBC One on January 11.
