Kimberly Hart-Simpson is rejoining 'Coronation Street'.
The 34-year-old actress has confirmed via social media that she'll reprise the role of Nicky Wheatley on the ITV soap.
Kimberly posted a photo of her as Nicky on her Instagram, and captioned the snap: "She's back! @coronationstreet 2022. (sic)"
The actress also announced the news via her Twitter account.
She wrote on the micro-blogging platform: "I can confirm I am returning to @itvcorrie - the best street in the world. #corrie #nickywheatley. (sic)"
Kimberly first appeared on the long-running soap in 2020, and since leaving the show, she's starred on 'Celebs Go Dating: The Mansion' on E4.
Her return to the cobbles is set to shake things up for Daniel Osbourne and his relationship with Daisy Midgeley.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "Daniel’s world is going to be rocked when Nicky unexpectedly turns up on the cobbles.
"She was there for him in his darkest hour after Sinead’s death but he didn’t think he’d ever see her again.
"Now he’s secretly with Daisy but could Nicky put the final nail in the coffin for their seemingly doomed relationship?"
Kimberly is expected to return to the show around March, and her comeback has thrilled bosses of the ITV show.
The actress - who has also previously appeared in 'Hollyoaks' - is "hugely popular" with 'Coronation Street' fans, and her return will make an "explosive splash" in 2022.
The insider explained: "Bosses are delighted Kimberly is returning. She was hugely popular with fans and she’s set to make another explosive splash in the new year."
