Jim Broadbent has played Father Christmas in Aldi's new Kevin the Carrot advert.
The 71-year-old star - who has narrated many of the supermarket chain's commercials starring the beloved vegetable character - put on the famous red and white coat and hat for this year's ad, which will get its television debut this evening (06.11.20) on ITV.
Jim said: "It is my great pleasure to step into Father Christmas’ shoes and bring the festive spirit to life for Aldi with my co-star Kevin the Carrot.
"I hope this campaign brings a little joy and magic to everyone this Christmas.”
In a teaser unveiled earlier this week, everyone was left rooting for Kevin's safe return after he dropped from a fighter jet in a flaming parachute.
He is determined to be reunited with his loved ones in time for Christmas, and he enlists the help of some new friends - including Harry the hedgehog - to get back home.
In the new advert - which has already launched on YouTube - the unlikely pair fall into a ravine and fast-flowing river, as Kevin's hope begins to fade.
However, that's when Santa Claus himself appears to save the day.
Sean McGinty, Marketing Director at Aldi UK, said: “We’re all thrilled to see Kevin back on our screens again, getting up to his usual tricks.
"Kevin’s popularity keeps on growing and this year, more so than any other, Kevin’s return to TV screens will come as a welcome relief for so many.”
Last year Aldi saw Kevin the Carrot take on the Brummie gang of ‘Leafy Blinders' in a parody of hit BBC period drama 'Peaky Blinders'.
After premiering on YouTube today (06.11.20), fans can see the advert at 19.45 on ITV in its terrestrial TV debut.
