Filming The Mill wasn't all fun and games for Kerrie Hayes, who got a "horrific" nettle rash on-set.

Whilst she revealed that there weren't many accidents during filming of the Channel 4 period drama, she did manage to get stung by nettles in a scene for the second series.

"The health and safety obviously try and make it as good as possible, but it was an old building so you had to be careful running around, and if you ran around you got shouted at like a child." she told BANG Showbiz.

"We weren't allowed to fart about or anything but I'm surprised that no one hurt themselves. Everyone who had shoes on seemed to be tripping up but we were all in bare feet. It was quite... you could have ripped your foot off on anything!

"That nettle rash was pretty horrific though. I'm a massive baby."

And though she was thrilled to be back working with the cast of the show once more, Kerrie found it difficult to reprise her role when she was meant to have aged by four years.

"I enjoyed it more so than the first one I think because obviously it was like coming back to the gang again and there were a lot more people in it this time, so it was good banter.

"It was like coming home again."

'The Mill' Series 2 is out on DVD on September 8. Series 1 and 2 Box Set will also be available.
