Sir Ken Dodd has been hailed as an inspirational performer as countless tributes have been made in the wake of his death.

The iconic comedian died on Sunday (11.03.18) at the age of 90 at his home in Liverpool - the same house in which he grew up - after being released from hospital following six weeks of treatment for a chest infection.
Now fellow comics, celebrities and fans alike have paid their respects to the legendary entertainer, with many offering their condolences and memories on social media.
'Little Britain' and 'Britain's Got Talent' star David Walliams posted on Twitter: "Comedy flowed through him like water. RIP Sir Ken Dodd."
TV duo Ant & Dec also took to Twitter as they added: "So sad to hear of the passing of #KenDodd. A comedy legend. RIP. [sic]"
They were joined by the likes of 'Chucklevision' star Paul Chuckle, who described Doddy as "a lovely guy".
Beatles legend Sir Paul McCartney, who met Ken on a number of occasions as a member of the band, released a statement via his official Twitter account which paid tribute to his "fellow Liverpudlian".
McCartney said: "Farewell to my fellow Liverpudlian the tattyfilarious Ken Dodd. Beloved by many people in Britain and a great champion of his home city and comedy. We met him on a few occasions as The Beatles and always ended up in tears of laughter. Today it's tears of sadness as well. See you Doddy."
'Take Me Out' host Paddy McGuinness also opened up about the impact the late star had on everyone's lives.
He tweeted: "RIP Ken Dodd. A true comedy and entertainment giant among us Diddy Men. I've never picked up a feather duster without saying 'By jove missus!' Legend. [sic]"
'The Apprentice' star Lord Sugar was amongst those sad to hear the news, and he paid his respects by sharing one of his favourite jokes from the comic.
He tweeted: "The man who invented cats' eyes got the idea when he saw the eyes of a cat in his headlights. If the cat had been going the other way, he would have invented the pencil sharpener. That's a Ken Dodd joke hah RIP Ken [sic]"
'Countdown' star Carol Vorderman revealed her love for the entertainer went back a long way - and she even dressed as one of his Diddy Men for a carnival contest.
She wrote on Twitter: "Ken Dodd.I loved him from when I was a kid. I won 1st prize in Prestatyn Carnival 1965 dressed as a Diddy Man #Proud, outfit made from an old bike tyre and a sheet. Doddy always made me cry laughing (he came on my This is Your Life show #IFeltHonoured). RIP Doddy ..you were loved [sic]"
Sir Ken had just married Anne Jones, his partner of 40 years, on Friday (09.03.18), under the same roof he lived his life in.
His publicist Robert Holmes told the BBC: "To my mind, he was one of the last music hall greats. He passed away in the home that he was born in over 90 years ago. He's never lived anywhere else. It's absolutely amazing."
