Kelvin Fletcher accidentally called the police for real during 'Emmerdale' filming.
The 36-year-old actor - who played Andy Sugden on the soap from 1996 to 2016 - got very caught up in an emotional scene with his on-screen brother Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) after learning he played a part in his wife Katie's (Sammy Winward) death.
Opening up about the scene during ITV's 'Emmerdale: Soapy Slip Ups', he said: "I remember this scene, a big moment this.
"I was absolutely in the moment. I was distraught, I was angry that he's played a hand in my wife's death."
However, Kelvin can be seen in the outtake breaking character and looking totally shocked, taking the phone away from his ear and - with tears in his eyes from the emotional scene - apologising.
He told the crew: "I just rang the police ... you didn't tell me there was a sim card in it."
Ryan burst out laughing along with the rest of the team on set, and Kelvin was able to joke about the awkward moment.
He added: "I'm dialling the number and rather than pretending to dial 999, I am dialling 999 cos I wanna speak to the police."
Kelvin previously admitted one of his more emotional moments on set was when Katie was killed off in 2015.
The character's on-screen death came after she found proof of Andy's brother Robert having an affair with Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller).
Over the years, Katie was involved in sibling rivalry, drama and love triangles involving Andy and Robert.
Kelvin said: "When I found out that Katie was going to be killed off, I was gutted. The powers that be thought, 'Katie and Andy are not meant to be together!' "
Sammy has admitted she was very emotional on set while filming her final moments, and she nearly broke down in tears on camera.
She added: "It was quite hard to play dead, because I wanted to cry as well.
"And as soon as they said cut, that was it - that was my last scene ever."
