The 'Doctor Who' actress, 39, first battled with the mental health illness when she was just 17 years old and, although she feels content with her life, she fears it'll come back.

She said: "I don't think it ever goes away. The fear is that it's always just behind you. If you just let your guard down for a minute, that's when it'll come and bite you on the a**e."

The brunette beauty - who is married to her former 'Spooks' co-star Matthew Macfayden - doesn't think her symptoms have completely disappeared but she's determined never to let herself sink into the dreaded dark place ever again.

She explained: "You are always aware, because it's so horrendous, you never want to go back to that place if there's anything you can do about it."

But, despite the highs and lows of her life, Keeley doesn't regret a single thing she's done because it's helped her to grow and learn and, ultimately, got her to where she is now.

She told the Daily Telegraph newspaper: "There's not a single day of anything I've done that I regret because everything has ultimately led me to where I am now.

"And I'm incredibly happy. I've learned along the way from people good and bad."
