Katie McGlynn has reportedly signed up for the 'Dancing on Ice' revamp.
The 'Coronation Street' actress - who is known for playing Sinead Tinker in the long-running soap - has attracted the attention of ITV bosses and, although no contracts have been signed as of yet, she's said to be really "keen" to take on the challenge.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "Katie loves the idea of trying something new so 'Dancing On Ice' is a perfect opportunity. She's well-liked, popular with viewers and exactly the sort of person they've been looking for."
The new series of the skating show, which last aired three years ago, won't hit television screens until the beginning of next year, but producers are determined to get the best contestants on board, so will be running trials over the next few months.
The insider explained to the publication: "There's no point in hiring famous faces for them to end up totally unable to skate."
However, the 23-year-old star isn't the only member of the cast being eyed up, as her co-star Brooke Vincent, who plays Sophie Webster, is also on the wishlist.
An insider said previously: "Brooke has already wowed judges with her skating audition. Bosses feel she'll be the perfect glam signing."
As well as carving out an impressive line up, organisers would like Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean to sit on the judging panel rather than reclaiming their coaching roles.
A source said recently: "Torvill and Dean loved their years spent teaching celebrities how to skate but they want to change things up for the new series. Now they are in talks to become judges, where they will finally get to have a proper say on what they think about the celebrities taking part.
"In the original format they were there to help them along the way, but this will mean they can use their gold medal winning expertise to decide who continues in the competition. If anyone is qualified to be a judge, it's them, and it would be a great way to shake up the format and give it a new lease of life."
Although not much else is known about the reboot, it's believed bosses are desperate to snap up Jason Gardiner, who was known for his nasty remarks on the panel, again.
Producers are also on the hunt for other professional ice skaters to join the show to work as trainers alongside Christopher's wife Karen Barber in order to prepare the celebrities for their routines every week.
'Dancing On Ice' was pulled off air three years ago but fans jumped for joy earlier this year when it was confirmed it would be making a comeback at the beginning of 2018.
