Kathy Bates is to return to American Horror Story for its fifth outing, titled 'Hotel', a tweet from show creator Ryan Murphy confirmed.

Previously the actress has starred as Ethel Darling and Madame Delphine LaLaurie on the FX drama, in American Horror Story: Freak Show and American Horror Story: Coven respectively.
Also recently confirmed for the show was Chloe Sevigny, who had a recurring role in second season, 'Asylum'.
Lady Gaga will also feature, alongside Wes Bentley, Matt Bomer and Cheyenne Jackson - all in major roles.
Former leading lady Jessica Lange has confirmed however that she will not be returning to the much-loved horror series.
American Horror Story: Hotel is expected to come to screens on FX this October.
