Katherine Ryan keeps having children to avoid ‘I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here!’
The ‘8 Out of 10 Cats’ comedian, 39, has long been scouted for the ITV reality show, but she has joked she would do anything to get out of heading to the jungle.
She told the Metro newspaper's Guilty Pleasure column: “I’m the worst candidate to really be on that show, so I keep having children to make sure I’m not available!”
The ‘Ready To Mingle’ host explained that she refused to leave her children to get up close and personal with creepy-crawlies in the Australia.
She said: “They’ve checked my availability in the past maybe, but I’ve always had small children and I wouldn’t want to be away from them in Australia for 30 days. I just wouldn’t.”
Although she admitted the show had done some good for her fellow TV friends, she emphasised that she was put off by the eating and drinking Bush Tucker Trials.
She added: “I’ve seen that show do wonderful things for my friends Vicky Pattinson and Joel Dommett.
“We really got to see Joel’s personality on I’m A Celebrity and I think comedians are great as they have nothing to hide.
“But I don’t do well with sun and I don’t think I’d like to eat crazy things and be scare and I don’t like snakes or spiders.”
As well as the ITV programme, Katherine is also not keen to put on her dancing shoes for ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ if an offer was ever made, but won’t rule it out completely.
She said: “I love to have this job and I feel very grateful to be able to make people laugh for a living, especially when times are very dark.
“I think it it’s funny then I’d definitely want to do it. They have sort of enquired about Strictly before - not a direct offer.
“But that just takes so much rehearsal time and I haven’t been married long enough to have an affair!”
