The former 'Big Brother' star's newborn daughter Noa - who was born on February 11 - was taken to A&E this week after her fingertip was "red, hot and swollen".

Taking to her Instagram Story, Kate wrote: "It took eight attempts to get her cannula in.

"That's eight needles into a different part of her hand and foot until they were successful. We have to stay 24 hours. I need to sleep.

"Called 111 as her finger tip was red, hot and swollen. Was told to bring her straight to A&E to get it seen to as it's infected."

In the early hours of Friday morning (26.02.21), Kate revealed they had to stay in the hospital overnight.

She explained: "We're having to stay overnight as she's too young to be sent home with antibiotics."

New mum Kate, 40, later updated her followers and noted her baby girl has been diagnosed with paronychia, which is an inflammation of the skin.

She wrote: "Noa has paronychia. It's an infection of the finger and it's being treated with antibiotics via the cannula.

"She slept well from 4am, she looks healthy so hopefully it's a sign she's responding well.

"Hopefully we can go home later this evening."

She also shared a clip of Noa sleeping wrapped in a Dalmatian pattern blanket, and revealed how proud she is of the tot.

Kate said: "I am in awe of this little lady's strength and bravery."

On Tuesday (23.02.21), Kate had opened up on an "overwhelming" seven days since returning home from hospital with her baby girl.

The former 'Big Brother' wrote on Instagram: "After arriving 11 days early, it’s been...

"1 day since I last cried. 2 days since her first bath. 3 days since we drove to A&E with her. 4 days since our first dog walk with Noa.

"5 days since we learnt how to use a sling. 6 days since the doggies came home. 7 days since we got home from hospital. (sic)"

Kate has been at home for a week and admitted that her early experiences of motherhood have been a "mixture of magical, traumatic, painful, tiring and informative".

She also described the last week as the "most overwhelming experience of [her] life".
