Kate Humble thinks Chris Packham is a "brave" person after he received death threats.
The 50-year-old BBC presenter has praised her former 'Springwatch' co-star, who has received several "death threats of a serious nature" after he successfully challenged a licensing system that allowed the shooting of 16 species of birds, and Kate insists the response to Chris' campaigning has been "completely unacceptable".
Speaking at the launch of a new initiative by intu to reconnect people with nature, she exclusively to BANG Showbiz, Kate said: "It's completely unacceptable, we are extremely lucky to live in a country where people are allowed to express their views, people are always going to have counter-views, people are always going to think differently, not everyone can agree on everything that's why we have a political process and a democracy.
"It takes a very brave person to continue standing up for their views.
"Chris's views are passionately held and they come from a place where he is not somebody who flip flops between trends. It is something he has thought about and cares deeply about and has a great deal of knowledge about, and I salute him for absolutely sticking to his point of view."
Chris previously revealed human excrement had been posted to his home in the New Forest, Hampshire, in response to the Wild Justice group - which Chris founded with fellow conservationists Ruth Tingay and Mark Avery - challenging the licensing system.
He said: "The police have spent quite a considerable amount of time at my house in recent days.
"Last night, I can't speak too much about what happened last night because I haven't been to the police yet."
The 'Springwatch' host said the type of threats he's received were "much more serious".
He added: "Not just my family, its businesses I work with, small businesses I am associated with loosely ... I am very resistant to this sort of thing ... they can send me as much human excrement as they like.
"[There were] death threats of a very serious nature."
This came after two dead crows were strung up outside his home in a shocking protest last week.
