Kate Garraway's husband is still unresponsive whilst battling the coronavirus in intensive care.
The 52-year-old 'Good Morning Britain' presenter - who has Darcey, 14, and William, 11, with Derek Draper - is "taking it 24 hours at a time" as her partner continues to battle the respiratory illness in hospital.
Speaking on the ITV breakfast show on Friday morning (01.05.20), her co-star Ranvir Singh said: "It's a dreadful time and I think, she is at home with two children and trying to keep it going and it's the total unknown. But she said that as long as he is here, there is absolute hope."
Ben Shephard explained that the presenter and her family were phoning the hospital each day to check in on him, but continue to take each day as it comes.
He explained: "Twenty four hours at a time. He is getting extraordinary care. She gets a chance to phone in the evenings and talk to him."
Ranvir added: "He is not responding yet I don't think, to everything that she is saying, but at least he can hear her."
But Ben joked: "That's very standard with Kate. Don't respond to everything. Derek sort of ignores her anyways, most of the time."
Last month, the 52-year-old former political advisor was admitted to a hospital intensive care facility after being stricken with the virus.
Kate gave fans an emotional update on Thursday night (30.04.20) and said Derek "is still with us".
Sharing a video of her family joining the weekly Clap For Carers, she wrote: "So much to be grateful for tonight. Derek is still with us but what a battle it is. So grateful too for our amazing #nhs doing so much for Derek everyday - wonderful to see all the support for them & our key workers every Thursday. We can't thank them enough can we?
"So brave. Sending love to everyone during this ghastly time, particularly all those struggling for whatever reason- none of this is easy. Thank you so much for your messages - they mean so much to me. Love and so much thanks from me and the whole family. X #staypositive #hope #standtogether #nhs."
