Kate Garraway is to see her husband Derek Draper face-to-face for the first time in four months.
The 'Good Morning Britain' presenter - whose significant other is still seriously ill after contracting the coronavirus earlier this year - is set to visit Derek in hospital today (14.07.20) for an emotional reunion.
Speaking on the ITV breakfast show, she said: "I might be able to go and visit Derek after the show today and in fact the nurses are going to put 'Good Morning Britain' [on] for him today.
"They've got a TV and they're putting it on this morning, obviously we don't know what he can hear or see.
"They didn't realise I was on air yesterday, but they're going to put it on today and see if there's any reaction.
"We're trying anything at the moment."
Kate - who has children Darcey, 14, and Billy, 10, with her partner - hasn't seen Derek, 52, in person since he went into hospital back in March.
Just last week, the 53-year-old broadcaster was desperate to see her man but understood the need for caution.
She explained: "The hospital where he is is now COVID-free, which is huge for them, but they still have to be so careful, so we can't see him.
"I'm hoping that will change in time ... it's like I can go to Primark but I can't give him a hug!"
Kate returned to work on Monday (13.07.20) after being off since March to focus on her family, amid her husband's health battle.
She was moved to tears talking to children's book writer Michael Rosen, who has survived Covid-19 and started to learn to walk after 47 days in a coma.
Kate said: "It's fantastic to see people come through this. It's so lovely to hear you."
