Kate Garraway has been "absolutely overwhelmed" by the positive reaction to her documentary, and admitted the "battle" for her husband Derek Draper goes on as he faces a "challenging" fortnight.

The 'Good Morning Britain' presenter returned to the show today (25.03.21) after the emotional 'Kate Garraway: Finding Derek' - which documented her husband's 12 months in intensive care battling coronavirus and the after-effects - aired on Tuesday night (23.03.21), and she has been inundated with well wishes.
Speaking on 'GMB', she said: "It's been absolutely overwhelming in a really wonderful way. I've had so many comments from people.
"The reaction has been extraordinary.
"I've had so many messages from people talking not just about COVID, but about experiences in their own life, where some of the things we touched on have impacted.
"There's lots of things I'd like to follow up on, because there are some really difficult challenges we're all facing."
Kate admitted Derek faces a "challenging week this week and next" and he will keep fighting.
She added: "Thank you so much for the reaction.
"The battle for Derek goes on. He's got a challenging week this week and next.
"And that's how we're all feeling, we are feeling like the battle goes on."
Kate was praised by her co-host Susanna Reid as a "miracle worker".
She said: "This is one of the things that is so remarkable and impressive about you, Kate.
"You keep smiling.
"You're a miracle worker. She's an inspiration."
Derek was admitted to hospital in March 2020 with coronavirus, and while he is now free of COVID-19, he remains in intensive care.
Coronavirus has ravaged his body and some of the after-effects have included his heart stopping more than once, his kidneys have failed, his liver and pancreas have been damaged, and numerous infections have left holes in his lungs.
