Coronation Street's Tracy Barlow ditches her daughter Amy for Rob Donovan.
The feisty brunette - played by Kate Ford - is so wrapped up in her love life that she palms her offspring onto her mother Deidre Barlow (Anne Kirkbride) and Amy's biological father, Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson) in a bid to manipulate her boyfriend Rob (Marc Baylis) into moving in with her.
Speaking to Inside Soap magazine, Kate said of her alter-ego: "If she has to force Rob's hand to make him commit, then so be it.
"She knows one of the reasons that Rob is reluctant to move in with her is because he fears he won't be a good dad to Amy - and that's not the life he wants right now."
Tracy has recently become a keen businesswoman after turning the bookies into a cash converter shop with her beau, but when Rob knocks back her new planned living arrangements, she becomes suspicious of his real motives for being with her.
Kate explained: "She gets her tail up and begins asking herself what she really means to Rob.
"She starts to wonder if he's only using her for her money. It doesn't take long before Tracy gets angry".
