The CBBC presenter and his dance partner wowed the judges on the BBC One Latin and ballroom show, earning an almost perfect score of 39.

Head judge Shirley Ballas said: "That was one the best quicksteps I've ever seen."

Even hard-to-please choreographer Craig Revel Horwood hailed it as "totally stunning".

Michelle Visage and Giovanni Pernice danced a passionate Paso Doble to Queen's 'Another One Bites The Dust', earning them 34 points.

Kelvin and Oti Mabuse's "absolutely superb" Viennese Waltz to 'Say Something' by A Great Big World and Christina Aguilera, and Chris Ramsay and Karen Hauer's Couple's Choice routine to 'Let's Get Ready To Rhumble' by PJ and Duncan earned 34.

Neil Jones was unable to dance with Alex Scott in the live show for the second week in a row because he didn't feel "ready" after a muscle in his leg popped out, resulting in a devastating and excruciating injury, just hours before the Halloween special last week.

However, professional Kevin Clifton stepped in to dance an American Smooth to 'Ain't No Mountain High Enough' by Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell, and the pair managed to score a respectable 31 points.

Elsewhere, Mike Bushell and Katya Jones danced a Charleston to 'Those Magnificent Men In Their Flying Machines' by the Ron Goodwin Orchestra, which received 30 points.

Saffron Barker and AJ Pritchard found themselves in the bottom three with their Salsa to 'Instruction' by Jax Jones featuring Demi Lovato and Stefflon Don.

Whilst Emma Weymouth and Aljaz Skorjanec's Samba to 'I Don't Care' by Ed Sheeran and Justin Bieber received 26.

Emma Barton and Anton du Beke's Rumba to 'Woman In Love' by Barbra Streisand unfortunately failed to impress, with a score of just 22 from the judges.

'Strictly Come Dancing' continues on Sunday (03.11.19).
