Karen Hauer and her celebrity partner Eddie Kadi came close to the bottom of the latest ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ leaderboard amid reports the professional dancer has split from her husband.
The 41-year-old and comedian Eddie scored 24 out of 40 on Saturday (14.10.23) night’s episode of the BBC One show after they finished near the top of the table on last week’s show, after it was reported she has broken up with Jordan Wyn-Jones, 34, following their wedding in 2022.
Karen – who is the longest-serving ‘Strictly’ pro – is yet to comment on the report, but a source told the Daily Mirror: “Karen and Jordan have had a tough time in the past few months and decided to split. It’s obviously very sad for both of them.
“But there’s no ill-will whatsoever. The split is amicable, and they wish each other the best.”
Speculation about Karen’s marriage started last week when she was seen at the Pride of Britain awards in London without her wedding ring.
In August, Karen revealed she and Jordan were having counselling to help them with their relationship.
She told Hello! magazine: “Counselling. You know what I think communication is massive but learning how to communicate, you know, so we get outside help.
“So whenever we’re having tricky moments or anything like that, it’s just seeing the vulnerable side of each other and understanding it and knowing that both of us are working on things because nobody is perfect.
“There is no such thing as a happy marriage or a happy relationship with the perfect couple.
“It’s about dealing with things the right way and not just running away from things, and I guess that’s what makes us tick even better and understand one another.”
Fans speculated Karen looked “upset” with the ‘Strictly’ judges’ score for her and Eddie’s American Smooth routine.
Week four of the BBC One show saw the 13 remaining couples performed a variety of dance routines, from Viennese waltzes to a paso doble.
At the top of the leaderboard on Saturday was theatre star Layton Williams and his professional partner Nikita Kuzmin.
Their cha-cha to Whitney Houston’s 2009 song ‘Million Dollar Bill’ impressed all four judges, and gained them three nines and a 10 from Motsi Mabuse, to make a final score of 37.
The show’s co-host Claudia Winkleman revealed their performance marked the earliest 10 awarded to a cha-cha in Strictly’s 21-series history.
Former EastEnders star Nigel Harman and his professional partner Katya Jones scored 33 for their salsa,
At the bottom of the leaderboard was Paralympian Jody Cundy and his professional partner Jowita Przystał, who received 19 for their salsa.
The ‘Strictly’ results show airs on Sunday 15 October at 7.15pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer, and will feature a performance from singer Beverley Knight.
