June Shannon won't let Honey Boo Boo be corrupted by fame.
The larger-than-life 'Here Comes Honey Boo Boo' star is adamant her seven-year-old daughter Alana 'Honey Boo Boo' Thompson won't go down the same path as former child stars like Lindsay Lohan because she doesn't understand how popular she is.
Asked whether she worried about Alana's exposure to the pitfalls of fame and fortune, June exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "No I don't. The reason why is that Alana honestly doesn't realise how famous she is. She is just happy that she and all the kids are able to get stuff that they normally wouldn't be able to have."
The outspoken star has set up a trust fun for each of her children - Anna 'Chickadee' Shannon, Jessica 'Chubbs' Shannon, Lauryn 'Pumpkin' Shannon and Alana, as well as 18-year-old Anna's baby daughter Kaitlyn - in the hope of protecting them from future temptation.
She explained: "The trust fund is set up for when they're 21, and that's split equally between the four children and the grandbaby so they're able to get things they need when they're older."
While Mama June and her eccentric family - whose favourite activities include extreme couponing, rolling around in mudpits and picking up roadkill - have caused controversy with their fly-on-the-wall show, the 34-year-old star insists it has changed their lives for the better.
June explained: "The best thing has been being able to take my kids on vacation for the very first time. My older kids haven't been anywhere and I haven't been anywhere since I was 15, so to be able to go on family vacation to Disney World was very nice!"
Brand new 'Here Comes Honey Boo Boo' airs on Tuesdays at 9pm only on TLC.
