June Brown thinks children are badly influenced by 'Eastenders'.
The 86-year-old actress - who plays Walford legend Dot Branning - doesn't think that soaps in general make good viewing for young people as they then encourage them to grow up too quickly.
Asked if 'EastEnders' was suitable for youngsters, June said: "I don't think soaps are really good.
"They can't stay children for long enough.
"They put make-up on, have their ears pierced and wear short skirts."
And June - who had six children with late husband Robert Arnold, though their first daughter tragically died at just 16 days old - also admitted she is dissatisfied with her career as her true passion lies in theatre.
The veteran actress - who joined 'EastEnders' in 1986 - told Radio Times magazine: "I am disappointed it didn't go the way I expected - in classical theatre.
"Because I had the children, I stopped being an actress as such and became a mum who acted."
Recent 'EastEnders' storylines that June may have been unhappy with have seen tearaway teenager Liam Butcher (Sonny Bottomley) join a violent gang and her on-screen step-granddaughter Lauren Branning (Jacqueline Jossa) battle with alcohol addiction.
