Julie Goodyear regrets returning to 'Coronation Street'.
The 71-year-old actress reprised her role as no-nonsense Rovers Return landlady Bet Lynch in 2002 seven years after she left the ITV soap, but she wishes she had never gone back to the Weatherfield cobbles because the changes to the filming process made her feel like she was on a "conveyor belt".
Speaking on 'Piers Morgan's Life Stories' - which is to air tonight (20.09.13) - she says: "I was asked to go back as a favour. So, yes, I do regret going back. What somebody had omitted to tell me, in the transition period, were all the changes that had happened.
"We'd always had rehearsal ... make-up and costume and everything. I had about 27 Rovers scenes and we started at the end.
"Sorry, the end? I was used to beginning at the beginning and building up."
Julie also admits she is "no good" at having sex but dodges Piers' question when he asks if she has had a relationship with men and women in the past.
When he says he does not have sex with his gay friends, she replies: "Neither do I. There was a time when I thought it might be worth a try. No good at it. Because I can't stop laughing.
"A relationship can be a friendship - you don't have to have sex all the time."
