Josie Gibson's nan wanted her to apply for a job at Lidl

The 36-year-old star - who joined the ITV show in a supporting role three years ago before standing in for Holly Willoughby for the first time in November - can't believe how far she's come as she admitted her career could have gone in a very different direction.

She told The Sun newspaper: "It was only a few years ago that my nan suggested I apply for a job at Lidl because they are good payers.

“I think something has always had my back, I don’t know what it is. I suppose I’m quite religious.

“Then again, you don’t know what’s around the corner — it could be here today and gone tomorrow, so you’ve got to enjoy it."

The former 'Big Brother' star - who won the reality show in 2010 - joined 'This Morning' as an announcer for the competitions, before her role was steadily expanded.

She added: “My family have been my biggest fans and supporters of all.

"I’ve got a massive family and I think I’ve received a message from them all, and I haven’t been able to get back to each one.”

The sky is the limit for Josie, but she played down the idea of waltzing onto the ballroom floor on 'Strictly Come Dancing' in the future.

She said: “I would love to, but what I’m not very good at is dancing to somebody else’s moves. When I’m at aerobics classes, I’m the one who can’t keep up with it, and I’m never in line with the rest of the class.

“It takes my brain that little bit longer than the average person to connect with the body. Let’s not put it out there. 'Strictly' will think I’m gagging for the job.

“The competition is so fierce. I’d be so worried that I’d be out first. I would also struggle with dancing in heels."
