Jordan North has a “got a plan” to host the BBC Radio 1’s breakfast show.
The ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’ alum - who already presents the Drivetime slot with co-host Vick Hope - is gunning for the the gig despite the show currently being helmed by his “best mate” Greg James.
The 33-year-old star told The Sun newspaper's Bizarre column: “Being on the radio really is a privilege. It genuinely is the best job in the world. There isn't a day I go on air with Vick and we don't have a laugh.
“Yeah, I've got a plan, I do want to do the breakfast show. Not right now as Greg is my best mate and he is absolutely smashing it, but I do want to do breakfast one day.
“It's always going to be in the back of your mind that one day you are going to have to leave, that you won't be in the job forever. You would be stupid to think you are fine and you have years left, as you might not get your contract renewed.”
Jordan added that he was “really happy” with his current job, which he has had since 2021 after serving as a stand-in for former hosts Nick Grimshaw and Scott Mills since 2014.
In 2021, when it was announced he would be joining Vick full time, he said: “I am absolutely chuffed to be making the move over to Radio 1 daytime and even happier to be working alongside Vick.”
Recently, the ‘Go Hard or Go Home’ presenter was forced to apologise after making a sweary gaffe when discussing the nation’s preference when it comes to bedding.
Jordan accidentally said: “For me, it’s fitted s****," before quickly acknowledging the on-air gaffe.
He instantly apologised, saying: Oh god, sorry, sorry , I apologise, I am so sorry. I meant to say sheets.”
Vick saw the funny side, adding: “There really annoying.”
