Jonathan Ross almost died from eating a puffer fish.
The 59-year-old television presenter decided to try the delicacy whilst in Japan, but the poisonous fish has to be prepared with caution as it contains enough tetrodotoxin to kill 30 adult humans.
Speaking to the TV Times magazine, he revealed: "I had one meal in Japan I want to tell you about, because it's a meal that nearly killed me. It was fugu, a blowfish - I had a blowfish feast of 10 courses.
"The toxins near the female reproductive organs for a blowfish can kill you, so they have to cut it just enough to make your lips tingle."
Luckily, the chat show host lived to tell the tale as he wasn't affected by the poisonous substance.
Since the lucky escape, Jonathan has been working on his own cooking skills and likes to throw the occasional dinner party for his famous friends.
He said: "I don't throw a lot of dinner parties, it's quite rare, so I think maybe that might make you feel like it was worth coming, because we don't do it often but when we do, we do it well.
"And here's the kicker that might swing it for you - I'm actually a pretty good cook. So I would cook the meal and hope that you would enjoy just being there and meeting our dogs and cats."
'The Masked Singer' judge has even planned his dream dinner party with the perfect mix of star studded guests to create a great night.
Asked who would be his dream dinner party guest, he added: "Everyone always puts Stephen Fry on this kind of list, and there's a good reason for that.
"I'd also invite the American film-maker David Lynch, Lady Gaga, David Tennant, and Ruth Jones, as it's important to have a glamorous, funny lady at the table."
