Johnny Vegas' son was too "shy" to appear on 'Celebrity Gogglebox'.
The 49-year-old comedian has been isolating with his son, Michael, 16, during lockdown, but the teen didn't want to take part in the Channel 4 reality show with his dad, so Johnny enlisted his longtime pal Bev Dixon to take his place.
Appearing on 'Good Morning Britain' on Friday (19.06.20), he said: "He's a 16 year old in lockdown, he's wired in, he's got the headphones in.
"He's actually quite shy and I think he's at that self-conscious stage, which is a shame. Bev's a bit more vocal and obviously we've known each other for ages."
The 'Benidorm' star has been able to take a break from dad duties whilst sitting in front of the TV for the reality show - which sees celebrities react to British TV from their own homes - with his "long-suffering assistant" and friend Bev.
Since the government issued a nationwide lockdown, he has been waiting on his son, and joked his home feels like a hotel that's open just for Michael.
Johnny added: "He's been in his own little zone, we've reached a point now where he's had enough of me. Whenever I try and break the mood, he just looks at me like, 'No, just don't. Make my my meal.' I've never felt more like a hotel that's open for just one customer."
Johnny has been transporting care packages for NHS staff and vulnerable and elderly people during the coronavirus pandemic to help the Steve Prescott Foundation, and the work has given him a chance to "heal" following the death of his parents.
He recently said: "It's like some cloud has lifted from me - I honestly feel like this has given me an opportunity to heal."
