John Thomson has split from his wife Samantha.

The former 'Coronation Street' actor has confirmed he ended his marriage in November last year after 10 years together and says their "absolute priority" is the welfare of their children, five-year-old Sophia Melody and 12-year-old Olivia.
In a statement, the TV comic said: "Sadly our marriage has irretrievably broken down. We have now been separated since November 2014 and we are currently in the final stages of a divorce. The priority is the welfare of our children and we ask that you please respect our privacy at this time."
Meanwhile, Sam said it was "the hardest decision" she has ever had to make and has promised to make sure her children continue to be "happy and healthy."
She told the Manchester Evening News: "It's been a very tough decision and a very hard and sad last few months for us. It was the hardest decision of my life, but it was my decision. We both love our children very much and will always continue to co-parent and keep our children as happy and healthy as they've always been."
Neither John or Sam have commented on the reasons for their divorce.
