John Challis received 9p in royalties for a classic episode of 'Heartbeat'.
The 78-year-old actor appeared once in the ITV drama - which ran from 1992 until 2010 - in 1998, and he joked he'd be buying fans a round after an old episode aired and earned him a small payday.
He tweeted: "Yippee! I just got a royalty payment for 'Heartbeat'. NINE pence. The drinks are on my, and I want change."
John - who is best known for his role as Aubrey 'Boycie' Boyce in 'Only Fools And Horses' - was referring to a scene from the hit comedy where a gangster offers £1 to buy everyone a drink, adding: "I want change."
Meanwhile, he recently hit out at the gentrification of Peckham and insisted the London neighbourhood has become too trendy as he called for new laws to stop people from being priced out of the area.
Recalling his early days on the sitcom, he said: "We started off filming in Peckham and it wasn't particularly pretty.
"I've been back a couple of times to open things or make a personal appearance and there was a lot more buzz about the place.
"As is happening to a lot of London, so-called gentrification is going, people starting up buildings and trying to sell them for extraordinary prices that nobody can afford."
John warned of the damaging impact of gentrification, saying legislation is needed to halt the trend.
He told the Big Issue: "I think that's happening all over the place, unfortunately.
"Presumably you have to stop it with some legislation and say 'no, you can't put those rents up, there must be affordable housing or people.' "
