John Bowe has broken his shoulder.
The former 'Emmerdale' actor - who recently claimed he "nearly died" from coronavirus earlier this year - suffered the injury and severe bruising after he fell off a ladder, and he has thanked the ambulance crew for "rescuing" him following the accident.
He wrote on Twitter: "I've had an accident. I've broken my shoulder but more intriguing is the 'Star of David' I've acquired on my forehead. Fear not. I shall survive. 2020. What a year. (sic)"
In response to his tweet, 'Coronation Street' star Charlie Lawson (Jim McDonald) wrote: "Good Lord John! What have you done?? (sic)"
John - who played Lawrence White in 'Emmerdale' and Duggie Ferguson in 'Coronation Street' - replied: "Never work at the top of a ladder without assistance."
The actor's former Dales co-star Samantha Giles - who played Bernice Blackstock on the show - was also concerned about him.
She wrote: "Oh John poor you! Hope you are ok xxx (sic)"
He also tweeted: "Thankyou so much for all your kind messages. They ease the pain. (Not really!) And I must thank the ambulance crew who rescued me and took me to Harrogate Hospital, where Larissa the nurse and Doctor Sarah looked after me. God bless the NHS. JBx (sic)"
John is in good spirits following the incident, as he joked he would be the perfect body double for a character with a "severe trauma".
He tweeted: "Given the difficulties for Hair and Make-up on film sets at the moment, if anyone needs a body double for crimson/purple bruising of severe trauma to a body from waist up....I'm your man! (sic)"
The accident comes after John "nearly died" when he was struck down with coronavirus earlier this year.
In April, he wrote: "Coronavirus Sunday observations. I have nearly died twice in my life. Once just last week. The gauze between life and death is extremely thin and oh so easy to pass through. Certainly in one direction. Not sure about the other. As yet (sic)"
