John Barrowman's pet dog has undergone an operation to have an eye removed.
The former 'Doctor Who' star has revealed that his “lovely” pooch Harris needed a trip to the vet to have surgery, and although he is still recovering his mutt mates and John and his husband Scott Gill have been nursing him back to health with lots of "cuddles" and treats.
He wrote on Twitter: “On Monday before I left home our lovely Harris had to have his eye removed. After surgery we brought him home to the other dogs they checked him out and then he barked cause he just wanted his dinner. We cuddled him and cried a bit and he gave me lots of kisses.
“Take care of your pups.”
In 2019, while appealing on ‘This Morning’, John generously offered to pay the adoption costs of anyone willing to give a forever home to three Jack Russell dogs he had “fallen in love with”.
According to the actor's official website, John and Scott share their home with three dogs; Charlie, Harris and Captain Jack - who is named after his popular time-travelling character from 'Doctor Who' and spin-ff sci-fi show 'Torchwood'.
The 56-year-old stage star also has a page on his website dedicated to his late pooches Penny, Tiger and Lewis.
