The 54-year-old retired footballer has been become the first male contestant confirmed to enter the all-female led house later this week after the ladies set up home in the lavish pad in last night's (02.01.17) episode.

Rylan Clark-Neal said on 'Big Brother's Bit on the Side' last night: "As you know, Friday night, the house will receive some gentlemen.

"Tonight, I can reveal that one of those very men, will be Liverpool legend and rap superstar John Barnes is going in the house!"

John will join the likes of Amanda Barrie, Jess Impiazzi, politician Ann Widdecombe, 'Keeping Up With The Kardashians' star Malika Haqq, transgender newsreader India Willoughby, Maggie Olive - the Detective Constable who exposed the Rochdale sex grooming scandal and inspired the programme 'Three Girls' - journalist Rachel Johnson - who is the sister of politician Boris Johnson - and model Ashley James.

It's not known whether John will enter the house by himself or whether bosses will be putting him into the abode alongside other men at the same time.

The famous abode has been given a feminine makeover as the show celebrates it being 100 years since women won the right to vote. The house is sophistically designed and features a stunning copper bath, which cost a whopping £4,000.

There are two bedrooms - each of which is named after a famous woman who campaigned for women's votes.

The Pankhurst room is named after Emmeline Pankhurst, the leader of the British suffragette movement and the other room is called Davison after political activist Emily Davison, who died when she threw herself under King George V's horse Anmer at the Epsom Derby in 1913.
