Joey Essex is confident that he's being watched over by his deceased mother while in the I'm A Celeb jungle.
The reality TV star was only 10 when his mum, Tina, committed suicide after battling years of mental health problems, but trusts he is being protected by her in the competition.
Joey's grandmother, Linda, said: "Joey firmly believes she is up there looking down on him, helping him and watching over him, and I believe it myself."
The 21-year-old hunk spent five years thinking his mum would come back after she killed herself and left him and his older sister Frankie riddled with grief.
Linda - the mother of Tina - explained: "It was terrible. Joey told me that for five years he believed that she would come back. He just couldn't accept she had gone."
However, Linda wishes Tina could have been here to watch Joey - who is the favourite to win - take part in the creepy crawly show because she would have been so proud of him.
Speaking to The Sun newspaper, she explained: "I must be the proudest grandmother in Britain at the moment. He is doing so brilliantly.
"But I can't help being sad as well because I wish Tina could be here to see him. She would be over the moon and so proud of her boy."
