Joel McHale is to report the truth on Fox's revival of The X-Files, with the young actor being cast as the anchor of a conservative news network who becomes a surprising ally for David Duchovny's Agent Mulder.
Currently details haven't been given on just how many of the six new episodes McHale will appear in according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Duchovny returns to his role of Mulder after eight years away from the series alongside fellow originals Gillian Anderson and Mitch Pileggi.
The X-Files' creator Chris Carter has previously hinted that former cast members Annabeth Gish and Robert Patrick could also star in the new season.
Meanwhile, McHale is fresh off the season finale of Community but recently hinted a movie could be in the works, with Yahoo also hinting at more episodes and telling fans to "stay tuned".
