Joel Dommett and his wife watched helplessly on CCTV as their house was being burgled.
The 'Masked Singer' host has recalled he and his significant other Hannah Cooper were "luckily" out at the time but managed to spot the robber at their Surrey home via their security cameras, so they called the police and returned home.
Officers tasered the burglar, who had smashed a window to gain entry to their abode, and he was later sentenced to four years in prison.
Joel said: "After we got married, we finally moved to a new house. We got burgled fairly shortly after we moved in. It was mad.
"It is everyone’s worst fear and it was horrible. We saw on our CCTV camera this guy in our garden, and luckily me and her weren’t in the house, but we saw it and rang the police and drove home.
"It was mad as we saw on the cameras the police arrive and we weren’t sure if the guy had left.
"We arrived and the police had gone in through the smashed French window and the guy was in there for 15 minutes.
"He was getting shoes and handbags and putting them back in boxes. Essentially he was tidying up. The police came at him with this Taser."
The 36-year-old star admitted he and model Hannah - who married in 2019 - were in tears and "traumatised" by the incident.
According to The Sun newspaper's Bizarre column, Joel added at a stand-up show at north London's 2Northdown: "Me and Hannah were crying. People ask me, 'When are you going to have kids, Joel?' We wanted kids and my brother had kids and then we were like, ‘I don’t think I want kids any more. That s*** looks difficult'.
"So me and Hannah are expecting a sofa. It takes 12 weeks. It’s well exciting."
Joel previously joked he felt like he was on 'Love Island' when he married Hannah.
They couple wed on the Greek Island of Mykonos, and his friend Iain Stirling - who narrates the ITV2 dating show - officiated the ceremony.
He wrote on Instagram: "A huge thank you to @iaindoesjokes for officiating the ceremony. You made it perfect.. and a little like I was on Love Island.(sic)"
