Joel Dommett sufferred a painful injury on the set of 'The Masked Dancer'.
The show's host has revealed he was impressed with the performance of disguised contestant Onomatopoeia and almost pulled a hamstring when he did the splits in an attempt to copy their complicated dance moves - admitting it was "exciting" but painful.
He told The Sun: "One of the characters does the splits, and that was very exciting. I tried it afterwards and almost pulled a hamstring.
"Onomatopoeia is a great dancer. They can really move, so I’m excited to see who is hiding behind the mask, because I have no idea."
'The Masked Dancer' is returning to TV with Joel hosting alongside judges Davina McCall, Jonathan Ross and Oti Mabuse who are joined by new recruit Peter Crouch who is stepping in to replace comedian Mo Gilligan while he is away on tour.
Peter has admitted the show has already taken over his life as he attempts to guess the identities of the costumed dancers.
He added to The Sun: "I didn’t realise quite how serious I’d be taking it. It’s taken over my life a bit because I’m constantly thinking wherever I am, ‘Who’s the Prawn?’
“Even now in the back of my mind I am sitting thinking I might have guessed one of them, and now I’m thinking of things that relate the clues to this particular person. I need to go and write it all down before I forget."
The features new costumed characters including Pig, Pearly King and Sea Slug masking the famous faces dancing underneath.
'The Masked Dancer' returns to ITV on Saturday (03.09.22) at 6.30pm.
