Joel Dommett thinks 'The Masked Singer' is "wildly different" to anything else on TV.
The 35-year-old comedian hosts the reality singing show on ITV and he thinks its success stems from its "arrestingly bold" format.
Asked about the secret to the show's success, Joel told TV Times magazine: "It's wildly different and arrestingly bold.
"TV gets stuck in ruts a lot of the time, so full credit to ITV for putting everything on the line with such a mad show!
"What's beautiful about it is, if you flick on the channel, you can't turn off because you're like, 'What is this madness? How has anyone allowed this on Saturday-night TV?'
"And then you go, 'Ooh, I think I know who that is!' and you have to keep watching."
Joel also revealed that he's been watching different versions of 'The Masked Singer' from elsewhere around the world.
The comedy star - who appeared on 'I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!' back in 2016 - feels proud to be hosting what he considers to be "one of the best versions" of the programme.
Asked if he's seen any international versions of the show, Joel said: "I watch as many on YouTube as I possibly can! It's interesting how different they are.
"Again, credit to ITV - they have really thought about it and put a lot of money behind it, because a lot of the others don't look as good.
"Even the American one, the guests that they have are incredible, but I don't think the costumes or the set are as good.
"I think we can be really proud here that it's one of the best versions in the world."
