Joel Dommett fed his wife Hannah Cooper a bit of his thumbnail.
The ‘Masked Singer’ presenter chopped a bit of his thumbnail off while he was preparing some chives for a romantic dinner for him and his ‘Celebrity Gogglebox’ co-star, but he couldn't find the nail and let fate take its course as to which of the couple ended up eating it.
The 37-year-old comedian told the Metro newspaper's Guilty Pleasures column: “‘I cut off my thumbnail while chopping chives. It went into the thing of chives, and I couldn’t find the nail.
"I was like, ‘OK, it’s in the cooker now and there’s a 50 per cent chance it’s going to be eaten by me, and 50 per cent it’s going to be eaten by her.
“We ate, and I was watching her the whole time. She got the nail and said, 'What’s that?!' I was like, ‘Oh no, I’m so sorry!' "
Joel recently shared how “glad” he is to have been given the thumbs up to host the rebooted ‘Survivor’ - which initially ran on ITV in 2001, and saw strangers stranded on a tropical island - and feels “blessed” to be involved in the BBC reimagining.
He said: “I’m glad they’ve trusted me with it. I don’t say this lightly, and I wouldn’t say it ever again, but put it in print, I’m hashtag blessed.
The former ‘I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!' star - who entered the Australian jungle in 2016 and was the runner-up to the eventual winner Scarlett Moffatt -hopes his time on the show might help him relate to the contestants about how “hard” it is to go without basic necessities like food.
Joel said: “God, it was hard, it really is the hunger.
"You talk about food for 23 hours a day. You don’t get that hunger out of your system for a good couple of months afterwards.”
