The 'Emmerdale' star has portrayed Jacob Gallagher in the ITV soap since 2010, but the 19-year-old actor is keen to gain some more education because he hasn't reached the level he wants to be at just yet.

He said: "I think I need to go back to acting classes, for sure.

"I've always got some improving to do.

"There's a level I want to get to but I'm not quite there yet."

But Joe-Warren has been fortunate enough to have landed a regular soap role, which his father, who was an extra in the ITV soap and had stints in 'Coronation Street', wasn't able to get.

He said: "My mum and my dad sent me to theatre school in Blackpool to try to improve my confidence.

"Because being an actor was never something I aspired to do.

"It was my dad who used to be on 'Emmerdale' as an extra and he did parts in 'Coronation Street'.

"He never got that role that I've been so lucky to get.

"So I think he just channelled all his energy into me."

Joe-Warren's latest storyline has seen Jacob's girlfriend Leanna Cavanagh (Mimi Slinger) tragically die, meaning he has had to act out plenty of tears in recent scenes.

And the star admits the emotion that comes with the plot is just as tough to play out as it was to learn and perform a routine on 'Dancing on Ice', which he competed on earlier this year.

Speaking on 'Lorraine', he added: "Both 'Emmerdale' and 'Dancing on Ice' were physically and mentally exhausting.

"Skating around on a rink for a couple of minutes is harder than you think.

"But also, crying in every scene or shouting in every scene is pretty tough as well.

"They're both as hard as each other."
