Joe Swash is to front an 'EastEnders' special for Christmas.
Joe Swash is dipping his toe back into the world of EastEnders
The 41-year-old TV star played Mickey Miller on the BBC One soap opera from 2003 until 2008 before making a brief comeback in 2011 and is now set to host a one-off special which will see him explore the lives of the six matriarchs involved in the latest Whodunnit? storyline.
He said: "I absolutely loved being back in my old stomping ground!"
Joe will be seen grilling Denise (Diane Parish), Kathy (Gillian Taylforth), Letitia Dean, Stacey (Lacey Turner) and Suki (Balvinder Sopal) as part of 'EastEnders: The Six', which will air on BBC Three and BBC iPlayer in the run-up to the Christmas Day episode.
Since leaving his role on 'EastEnders', Joe - who is married to 'Loose Women' panellist Stacey Solomon - went on to win the 2008 series of 'I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here!' and these days has a career in television presenting but revealed earlier this year that he would be happy to return to the soap if the call came.
When asked by Carol Vorderman 'I’m A Celebrity... South Africa' about whether he would want to head back to Walford, he said: "I wouldn’t mind it.
"You know exactly what you’re doing, when you’re doing it, how you’re doing it.
"But they’ve never asked me mate, not once."
The former 'Dancing on Ice' winner thougt he had the "worst" exit ever, and he didn't ever have to act out one of the famous "doof doof" ending scenes in his five years on the soap.
He added: "I had the worst outro ever! I didn’t even leave at the end of the episode.
"So usually you leave at the end of the episode and you get the ‘doof doof’.
"Mine, I went to Norwich to be a bell boy at a hotel and mid scene I just walked into the Vic and went, ‘Right, see you later’.
"They turned back to Phil, turned back to me and I’d gone.
"I was like ‘What, that’s it?’ I was there five years and not one doof doof!"
