The 38-year-old actor and his professional partner skated to victory on the show last month and he admitted he was feeling so ill in the week leading up to the final, he's now convinced he'd contracted the highly-contagious condition.

He told MirrorOnline: "In the final week of the competition I was really ill, I had a bad ear, I was being sick quite a lot, I had fever.

"I think I may have had corona in the last week of 'Dancing On Ice'."

After the final, the former 'EastEnders' actor "let himself go" because he was so exhausted from the strict training regime.

He admitted: "When I finished the show, my body just gave up on me, my shoulders, my knees, so I hadn't exercised for two or three weeks.

"And the other day I did some exercise in the garden and I am so sore! Everything is killing me!"

Joe - who has Harry, 12, from a previous relationship and 10-month-old Rex with partner Stacey Solomon - admitted he is now "really missing" training and skating on the show.

He said: "I am really missing it, it was the hardest thing I've ever done, but I loved the people I was doing it with, and I loved the routine.

"I never thought I'd say that!"

Meanwhile, the actor admitted he and Stacey "stepped on each other's toes" a lot while isolating at home due to the pandemic but the couple have now made it work.

He said: "It's all about giving each other space and working as a team, and get things done together."

And the 'Loose Women' star - who also has Zachary, 12, and Leighton, seven, from previous relationships - is enjoying seeing her partner get stuck into household tasks.

Joe admitted: "Stacey finds me sexy when I do chores!

"If I clean the windows or do the hoovering, she's like, 'Ooh Joe...', no matter what."
