The 27-year-old actress has seen her two big projects for 2021 - starring in a rebooted 'Matilda' movie and shooting series four of 'Killing Eve' - put on ice because of the ongoing health crisis.

A source told The Sun newspaper's Bizarre TV column: "It’s frustrating for everyone in the industry now and Jodie will be feeling that too.

"She’s more killing time than 'Killing Eve' right now, as both the cast and crew of that and 'Matilda' have been told to stand down until there is more certainty about filming safely."

Jodie - who is set to play Miss Honey in the new 'Matilda' movie - has enjoyed huge success in recent years.

However, the pandemic has put her momentum on hold for the time being.

The insider explained: "It is the last thing Jodie would want after the few years she’s had. She wants to keep the momentum up but there are more important things in the world right now."

Jodie plays Villanelle in 'Killing Eve', and she previously admitted that the role has changed her life in dramatic fashion.

She said: "Of course, I was so lucky that Villanelle was just one in a million. That role is just so fabulous that I think people are like, ‘Well, where’s she gonna go from here?'"

Despite this, Jodie is determined not to get carried away with her success.

The acclaimed actress explained: "For me, the only person I have to answer to is myself - so as long as I go into things with integrity and knowing why I did it, I think you just have to drown out the noise."
