Joanna Page has revealed her kids think 'Gavin and Stacey' is "boring".
The 43-year-old actress - who has Eva, Seven, Kit, five, and Noah, three, with husband James Thornton - introduced the BBC sitcom to her children when the Christmas special was on television, and said her kids were initially excited to see their mum on screen as the titular Stacey Shipman.
She told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “Last year is the first time I’ve shown them any 'Gavin and Stacey'. We were flicking through the channels and the first ever Christmas special was on. Eva was like, ‘Oh my gosh Mummy, it’s you!’
“They couldn’t believe it – they were so excited. They thought it was hilarious that I was in it, and was married to someone called Gavin.”
However, the kids soon became fed up with talk about the popular show, and have criticised Joanna for discussing her starring role.
She recalled: “Oh God, you’re not going on about that 'Gavin & Stacey' again are you Mummy? It’s so boring.”
'Gavin and Stacey' - which was written by and stars James Corden and Ruth Jones - tells the story of Essex boy Gavin (Mathew Horne) who falls in love with Welsh girl Stacey.
The show came to an end in 2010 after three seasons and a Christmas special in 2008 but returned last year with another festive episode that was watched by millions of fans.
However, not all of Joanna's family are fed up with her work, as her parents have to watch 'Love, Actually' - in which she plays a professional stand-in called Judy - to help them feel like it is Christmas.
She said: "My parents are like, ‘It’s not Christmas until we’ve seen 'Love, Actually''. Then two years ago we started watching 'Nativity Two' and now it comes out every year – the kids love it.
“And me and my husband were in 'David Copperfield' years ago, so my parents always want that on."
