Joanna Lumley will head out to Iran next week to film her next documentary.
The 'Absolutely Fabulous' star will be back on screen later this year with another real-life segment following the success of last year's instalment on India, but this time she'll be heading in a different direction as she'll tackle the Middle Eastern country, Georgia and Azerbaijan for the forthcoming 'Joanna Lumley's Silk Road'.
Speaking to The Sun newspaper, she said: "I am going to Iran next Saturday. Worried? No, no, no. We would not go if it was worrying. It is pretty thrilling.
"We have just come back from Uzbekistan, Kurdistan last week. I am off to Iran, Georgia, Azerbaijan. I have not been to North and South Korea. I don't want to conquer those areas at the moment."
The documentary will follow Joanna as she traces the path of the ancient trading route from China to Venice and it is expected to air in the autumn time.
The 72-year-old actress' last documentary took her back to India - where she was born - as she let viewers into a deeply personal journey around the vibrant country.
The show saw Joanna explore its diverse landscapes, varying cultural traditions and incomparable spirit while also mingling with an eclectic mix of people.
This isn't the first time Joanna has gone exploring with the camera as she's previously presented a three-part documentary in Japan and 'Joanna Lumley's Trans-Siberian Adventure' which saw her travel 6400 miles from Hong Kong to Moscow, along the Trans-Siberian Railway.
