Joanna Lumley would love to make a 'Coronation Street' comeback.

The 74-year-old actress - who had an eight episode stint on the cobbles as Ken Barlow's girlfriend Elaine Perkins in 1973 - visited the set for her new ITV series 'Home Sweet Home - Travels In My Own Land', and she revealed a return was almost on the cards a decade ago.
She said: "It brought it all back! I'd go back in a heartbreak.
"I was invited to go back about 10 years ago but some filming I was doing got in the way."
During the show, she was reunited with Bill Roache - who has played Ken on 'Corrie' since the very first episode in 1960 - for a special tour of Weatherfield.
She added: "I was never allowed in the Rovers Return before. I was only in 'Corrie' for eight episodes in 1973 and had to say: 'I'm not going to marry you, Ken', and leave."
Meanwhile, Joanna reprised her role and brought back Elaine to wish 'Corrie' a happy 60th birthday ahead of the milestone last month.
She said: "I can hardly believe I'm saying this - I'm saying happy birthday to 'Coronation Street' for 60 years.
"It's unbelievable, and what makes it even more unbelievable (is) that I, Elaine Perkins, who was never allowed in the Rovers Return ... and now [I am] behind here.
"I'm holding up my glass and saying to you all, all the cast and crew then and now: Happy, happy birthday, a thousand congratulations and in my heart I shall always be part of 'Corrie'.
"Bless you, sweethearts, cheers!"
Joanna and Bill's tour came during lockdown, but before the soap legend had returned to filming during the pandemic - so it gave him a sneak peak at the measures in place.
He previously added: "I had seen the studio in its new marked out protocols state and it wasn’t such a big shock."
