Jimmy Bullard "can't read" an autocue.

The retired soccer star is preparing to present his new TV show 'Jimmy Bullard Kicks Off' on London Live with Kiri Bloore but after struggling with the teleprompter in rehearsals he's decided to ditch the gadget.

Instead wise-cracking Jimmy is going to speak off the cuff on the programme.

Speaking exclusively to BANG Showbiz, he revealed: "In the practice and pilots, I tried doing the autocue and it wasn't me. It was too wooden. I can't read it properly. In my last one, I had a meltdown, I had a massive meltdown. We had a meeting and I just said, 'Look, I can't do this.' So I'm just going to be myself - my random self and I'm going to enjoy it."

Jimmy's post-football TV break came on 'I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!' where he had loads of "banter" with his campmates Jake Quickenden and Carl Fogarty.

The 36-year-old sportsman is really excited about 'Jimmy Bullard Kicks Off' but he's up for doing a variety of shows and is keen on a stint on 'Strictly Come Dancing' but he doesn't think his fiancée Diane will let him compete on the ballroom because of the alleged 'curse of Strictly' which splits couples up.

He quipped: "The dancing one I'd quite enjoy. I don't think the missus would let me though, because they all have affairs on that show, don't they?

"Imagine that. I'd be like, 'Di, I'm going to do the dancing one.' She'd turn her nose up straight away. It would be a bit awkward. But I'd love to do it."

'Jimmy Bullard Kicks Off' will be launching on Friday (16.10.15) at 7pm on London Live, Freeview 8, YouView 8, Sky 117 and Virgin 159 or watch live online www.LondonLive.co.uk
