Jim Davidson is set to star in 'Celebrity Big Brother' after a sex offence probe against him was dropped.
The 59-year-old comedian was ready to appear in the Channel 5 series in January but he had to pull out of the programme after being questioned by police investigating historic sex allegations, which he always denied, at the last minute, but he is now being lined up for the show in the new year.
A source close to Jim told the Daily Star newspaper: "Jim is so relieved. Going on the show will help him bury the trauma of the last nine months.
"He always insisted the allegations were absolute rubbish - and now viewers will get to hear his side of the story."
While he is still facing one allegation of sex offence from an alleged incident in 1983, he is confident that will soon be dropped and some TV insiders are tipping the former 'Big Break' host to put the claims well and truly behind him by winning next year's 'Celebrity Big Brother'.
One said: "Jim has always been honest about his own failings, and there's nothing the nation loves more than giving someone a second chance."
